Institut Agama Islam Purwokerto (IAIN) is a one of the State Islamic Institute, located in Purwokerto City, Banyumas, Central Java, which occupies a urban settlement area.
Project Planning for The Integrated Campus Building of IAIN Purwokerto is planned with a building area of 3684 m2, by adopting 3 major concepts namely Islamic Architecture, Modern Architecture and Green Architecture, which all of it are integrated into a single unit of a simple and elegant building. The building is flat with a good orientation, which from west to east, in order to optimize the natural lighting and also minimalize the excessive sunlight. The use of Islamic Pattern elements that applied on the facades made the building not only becomes more iconic but it also used to be the building’s shading, and expected to be the “new look” for the Purwokerto city.
The layout of the zoning was like:
– 1st floor: student service and hall zone
– 2nd floor: academic service zone
– 3rd to 4th floor: principal zone
– 5th to 6th floor: classroom zone
Every zone is connected by the main stairs, and elevators, also the corridor
